If you were a tourist agent what would you be pitching for the upcoming holidays?

If I really was a tourist and I had to pitch for the upcoming holidays, I would most definitely go to Greece because I heard that it is beautiful there, the weather is warm, the food is great and there are plenty of beaches. You might not know but i'm an excellent surfer, I just love surfing, it's in my blood. So about the trip, I would go with my family and I would bring some of my friends. Imagine you are the manager of a store.

If I have an employee who is constantly late for work and who seems unmotivated, the first thing I would do is I would try to figure out what is wrong with that person. If I see that he just does it on purpose, then I would try to come up with a solution so we can get along. If it didn't work, then I will have no other choice than firing him. This of course this is the last thing I would do. But then again, it depends on what kind of employee he is.

Why is customer service important?

Customer service is very important for every single business, whether it is a small private business or a big franchise that hires hundreds of people every month. If people are not happy with your customer services, chances are they won't do business with you again so it is very important to take care of their clients. When you do business, always remember that the client is always right, no matter what. Without good customer service, a business won't run well.

What he is doing is that he is comparing physics with business by using newton's law. Like he said, the more the company is massive, the more massive is a company and the more baggage so it takes more force to move. So basically what he is saying is that it is very difficult to reposition a brand if it is something really big like we could per example Nike, Apple or Microsoft. But a company that is small like per example SuperStruct, then of course it would be much easier to start new because not a lot of people know about it.

So what are the four P's? Well let me tell you. The four P's is simply a term that you hear all the time when you do business or when you work for company. So basically the 4's stand for four words which you may or may not heard of it before. So pricing, product, place and promotion are the four words that are represented by by 4 P's. AIDA is an acronym that stand for Attention, Interest, Desire and Action. Those steps are very important especially when you have to run a business or you have to make sell.

I predict that the category that will generate the most money is definitely is food & drink and maybe clothing because let's face it, all teenagers love to eat. And i'm sure that everybody in the school would love to get a titan shirt or a sweater because we all love to support the sports team of our beautiful school.  I think that we should also promote the school store by doing some radio adds to everybody knows what are the specials.

Well I do agree with most of these sayings especially with the  last one that goes like I should use credit sometimes because it help building kinda like a reputation so when you really need money, you can have it. I don't agree so much with the second saying that says if i can't afford to pay something, i should not buy it. I think you should be able pretty much whatever in mind but of course always have a limit because you do not want to spend too much and not be able to pay it back.

Leading is organizational methods to work efficiently for achievement of organizational purposes and the last one is measurement of accomplishment against the standards and correction of deviation. The advantages are that they help to make a good business but the disadvantages is that is might take a lot of time to do it right.

So we launched just yesterday, we started making more posters, we made a facebook fan page and we are currently thinking about other ways to advertise our business. Everything is going great to far. We did find one customer. I would say that we are managing the business very well, i mean we got one customer only one day after we launched the business and that is ten dollars right there so it is actually pretty good. I think we should work faster for the advertisements because we just have two posters and a facebook fan page so far. But let me tell you something, we are not giving up, we are going to work very hard until we get the job done correctly.

A product that is in the decline stage of it's cycle, i would say Sprit, the soft drink. I think many other companies have a similar product that is really alike sprit but much cheaper. Like the other day I saw a commercial of a drink that was very similar so sprit but it was made the presidents choice and it was only 89 cents for a two litter so that is very cheap. Also one of the main reason that I think that sprit is in decline is because they don't do commercials anymore so this could be a factor.

What did you like about the product? What did you wish was different? Who would this product appeal to? How could you market to them within the school?

I think it was pretty simple and easy to use the program, I didn't any help or whatsoever. However I wish it was faster, sometimes it took me a while to upload a photo or a picture. I think this product is very useful and it is a very good for promoting a business or a specific product. I think there are many different ways to market them in the school and still make a load of money. We could put them up downstairs on the main tv and this way a lot of people are going to have the chance to take a look at them. And it is good advertisements.

What is your least favourite ad? What is your favourite ad? Put an example of a good and a bad ad on your blog.

My least favourite advertisement are the ones that play over and over again. Like those silly commercials that are on ytv that promote barbies and many other toys. The concept itself is deja vu, people are getting tired of those commercials. Now my favourite commercials are the ones that are very special and unique. A good example of that would be the Heineken ad. They turned a real building into a pack of beer. How original is that? I've never seen that before and this is what it makes it so interesting.

Which idea did you like the best and why?

The idea that I liked the most was definitely the Volkswagen advertisements with their fast line thing. Everybody seemed to like it and they were having so much fun. I wish I could try that instead of taking the stairs. That is what I call good commercials for their products. I think it was a very interesting idea to put kinda like a ramp do instead of using the stairs people could have a little fun and it would save them a little bit of time to get to their destination.

Do you think they are right about generation Y? How can you use this "consumer behaviour" analysis to further your company?

I think from the bottom of my heart that they are absolutely right about everything they said about the generation Y. But I gotta admit, there were a few things that I did not understand about what he said in the video we watched. But overall it was very good. You can use customer behaviour in many different ways to get better result in terms of finance. And this means making more money which is the principal goal of a business.

What does this story teach you about customer service, customer loyalty, customer relations and the customer experience?

It teaches that it is very important to have a good customer service when it comes to a business because this is what people are looking for. When your customer service is not good, most people would not be interested to your business even if offer great products. Everybody who has or own business knows that the client is always right no matter whats. Someone who has a good customer service always have a successful business and there is a reason for that.

Is it possible for a business to be solvent but not profitable? Why or why not?

Yes i think it is possible, as long as you don't lose money. I mean a business can run very well, maybe doesn't make a huge profit but still it's not like the business id going down. It is possible for a business to make just enough money so the business does not shut down. You know enough money like a breaking point. In fact i'm pretty sure there are a lot of business out there that make just enough money so they don't actually need to close their businesses

Describe your favourite advertisement. Why do you like it? Describe your favourite store. Why do you prefer that store to other stores? What soft drink do you like the best? Why that product instead of others?

My favourite advertisements are the ones that are funny like the the Old Spice commercials. I think funny commercials caught people's eyes. Also they are easy to remember. I like stores that have a good price and that they don't make children work. I am strongly against child labour. Therefore I hate Walmart and Ikea. My favourite soft drink is Coca Cola because it is so good. After a hot summer day, all i wish for is to have one of those drinks because it refreshes me. Also Coca Cola do awesome commercials like the one with the Simpsons.

What is working well with your group for this project? What do you wish would work better? How can you work better? How can you encourage others to work better?

Right now we are all working on advertisement, we posted links of our website on our facebook account and twitter account, we talked to our friends about our project and Saad already has a costumer. I wish we could just have a little bit more time for our website because we had a few problems but we got everything fixed. We started working really hard, and we are happy with the final result. Yesterday I got the poster done and we worked on some new business cards.

How can businesses end up with a bad reputation? Are bad reputations are always the business fault? What can a company do to change a negative public image?

Usually a business will end up with a bad reputation if the work is not done well or if it can't satisfy the people. They say that clients are always right. So it is very important for a business to do whatever it takes to make the people happy. Bad reputations are not always businesses fault because sometimes people just make up things about a company, kinda like rumours. It is actually pretty hard to change your image when your business has a bad reputation because people make up their minds very easily. But it is possible, it your provide a very good service.

What do you think of this man's ideas?

I honestly believe that this man has great ideas and he expressed them very well. I think it was very interesting to watch. Although there were some things I didn't understand in the video. The video was very long.  After watching the first half I felt like I wanted to go sleeping. But like I said before, his ideas with energy were very good but he could've made the video shorter because who likes a to sit and listen a guy talk for 12 minutes.

I think it mean that no matter what, always do the right thing, even if you don't  feel good about it. Like let's say that someone is in danger, you have to try your best to save that person even if it seems dangerous to you. I think it is pretty much saying that you have to stand up for yourself or simply don't be scared of anything or anyone because it is your life and you make your own choices. You don't want anyone to tell you what to do. When something sounds right to you, you gotta do it even if your brain says no.

You are aware that the teller gave you back too much money when completing a banking transaction.

Honestly, I would  give the money back and if you want my opinion honesty is like the most important thing. Think about it, if everybody would act this way, our beautiful world would be in peace. I try to act the best I can while I can. If if it happened to you. Let's say you own a store and you gave too much change to a client. Like lets say 20 dollars, how would you actually feel if your client brought you back the money. Also I believe that stealing is wrong.

What are some products that you think could be considered unethical and morally wrong?

I think it is wrong when people lie in their advertisements because it is not honest and when this happens people get angry with the company and they never want to buy again from them because they know that those companies do fake advertisements. Also when stores lie about the price of their products and this happens all the time. Stores do these kinda things so they can get more clients. I think all it does is making people angry because it is false advertisements. But I think a lot of companies are dishonest and they are willing to do whatever it takes just so they can get money.

What you think about the criticism?

Well first of all I wanted to say that I agree with what is happening in wall street and everywhere else where they are protesting for this cause. I really think that the rich people are too rich and the poor people  are too poor and personally I think it is a big problem. I am very surprised that there was so many people who showed up at the protest and I think it is wonderful to stand up for what you believe in and that is what people are doing. I wonder what is going to happen with this protest, like when is it going to end are are people going to get what they really want.

Career Fair

My group and I went to many stations and we got a lot of of fun. Basically what we did is walked stations to stations and we asked them tree different questions. The first one was "What kind of business are you?" The second question was "What's enrolment?" And finally our last question was "How do you target your market?" People gave us interesting answers. We learned many things like per example that the University of Calgary is a non-profit business because all the money they make is put back in the university. And also the UofC have many ways to target their market like they have a website, they do publicity and they advertise their school by going to different high schools and they do advertising. We also went to the station about the army and I think this was very interesting because the guy who was doing the presentation is a french-canadian soldier and as you may know my first language is french so I had the chance to communicate in french with him and it was awesome. The soldier also talked about his experiences like when he went to afghanistan for his mission.

It think this picture has become so popular because obviously it is all over the internet a lot of people got the chance to see it. Also it is because people agree with this young woman and they have a lot of respect for her and she has a lot of respect for the people. She is a very rich person but she still agrees with what is happening in wall street and this is why she is part of this protestation. She is against what some of the rich people are doing so she decided to express her opinion.

He talked about how to achieve success and he gave the eight most important things you have to do. He gave some examples for the keywords. He pretty much just said the main points of success. It was a brief video because it was very short, just a few minutes. I learned that the most important things in succcess are work, focus, passion, good idea, effort a a few other things. I think it was a very good video and it was very interesting to watch.

Before we start advertising, we need what to advertise and how to do in order to get a lot of clients. Advertising is not as easy at it seems because you gotta follow a few steps. We need to learn how to make good posters so people go wow when they see it. The main goal is to caught up people's attention and there is many different ways to do this like by make it funny. I would say that best advertisements are the ones that are funny like the Old Spice commercials. And they are good advertisement because people remember them. A bad example of commercials are the ones that are always on. At beginning they are fun to watch and they get boring very fast and people get tired to them like shamwow.

Once we achieve our goal which is to make a successful business and of course make some money, we are going to take the business to a whole new level. We are going to try to make our business even more popular by promoting it so we can have more clients and make extra money. I am not saying that we are going to be able to make a living out of it but lets say its just a way to make some extra money in our pockets. We are willing to work very hard. I think it is very important to achieve our goals because its good for out self esteem.

I do think that this women has her fact correct and I think that she is very intelligent because she is not scared to stand up for herself. If women had more leaderships roles, everything would obviously be different. I think it would have its bright sides and its down sides. Personally I think that everything is good the way it is, we shouldn't try to change anything. Just think about it for a minute, if women had more leadership roles, how would men feel? I mean women already take care of their kids, they work, they cook, they clean and pretty much all the other chores and this is incredible.

I think that what she is trying to say is that the most important thing you have to learn when it comes to acting is reading because of course you can't really make a movie if you can't read. And she also says that memorizing is not very important and I do agree with her because in a movie it does not matter how many times you do a part. I mean we can edit a movie so it doesn't matter if it takes you forty shots just for one line. She doesn't include listening because it is not important. As long as you focus on your lines, everything is going to be good.

the video - Day 13 (Business Class)

The video was kinda complicated because i wasn't sure what he was really talking about. I understood that he was talking about the logics behind a business and he was pretty much telling us the key point behind each business and also e was saying how they work. So I can't really say that I learned a lot of new things but the video itself was pretty interesting to watch and I enjoyed it a lot but again it was complicated to catch up everything, i think that i'll have to watch it again.

What can you take from this video into your own work?

First of all, I just want to say that this video was amazing and it was by far the best video I've seen in the business class. I learned so many things that could help me to make my business most successful. Like the gentlemen said «The mind doesn't know what the eyes want». So instead of asking my clients what kind of design they would like for their websites, I should simply offer them a variety of options and this way i'm sure that my clients get what they really want.

What would happen if all business had unlimited money?

If all business had unlimited cash, none of the businesses would actually make sense because why would they keep working if they had unlimited money. If a business had unlimited cash, it wouldn't be called a business because when you open a business, your main goal is to make money but if you already have unlimited money then what is going to happen. Also people would not promote their business if they had unlimited money.

On your blog answer what did you learn about team work from the last two assignments? What do you do well as a team member? Why is that important?

I learned plenty things about team work in the last two assignments such as in order to do good, you have to be patient because working in team work is not always easy. The things that I did well are that I participated  at each assignment well . I think that the most important thing about working in team work is to respect each other because if you don't respect each other things might get very complicated. Also it is important for everybody to do their part of the work if you want a good mark.

How do convincing speakers vary their speech when they speak for different purposes and to different people?

Convincing people is very important, especially while you are doing a speech. A lot of people don't notice this but convincing is actually one of the main factor of a speech. Let's say you are presenting your product to a crowd, even if the product you are selling is very good top quality, most people won't buy it unless you make a good impression by trying to convince them. But it is not as simple as it seems because everybody is different therefore you are going to need more than only one way to convince your clients.
